Stephen Franklin, President

Born in Kansas City, Kansas, Stephen and his family moved to Florida in 1966 and they all spent countless hours on the water together. With over 18 years in the electronics industry and a lifelong background in construction, he is now a top Custom Home Designer. Still an avid outdoorsman and boater with his own family, he also coaches Special Olympics Bowling and Paddle Boarding.

Dr. Robert Olson, Vice-President

Bob grew up on the lakes in Minnesota, skiing at age 4 with more than 40 years of boating and fishing experience. He started his science career as an Environmental Scientist for Citizens for a Better Environment and was accepted into graduate school in Botany prior to choosing a career in medicine. Bob continues to have a fascination with both the body’s and nature’s ability to repair itself better than science has been able to duplicate at a fraction of the cost.

He lives on the Clermont lake chain with his family and pets. After becoming aware of local Clermont politics due to the boat ramp issue, he chose to join the Board of CCOLF to help continue to promote access and protect the water quality for the future. As an active boater on the chain along with an environmental steward, he hopes to promote conscientious use of the lakes while protecting the shores and wetland areas.

Libby Hanna, Treasurer

Libby learned to swim in Narragansett Bay, RI and grew up surrounded by the glorious natural beauty of the Ocean State. She studied psychology and computer science and enjoyed a career in software testing, where she met her husband Steve. As a parent, the urgency of protecting public resources for future generations became manifest.

Canal access to the Chain of Lakes, cycling Florida’s bike trails, kayaking and bird watching are among the joys of her life, and she is committed to preserving the wonders of outdoors for everyone in the community now and into the future.

Steve Hanna, Secretary

Steve’s family have always been “lake people”. As a child, he spent summer days swimming, water skiing, and fishing at the family cabin in Ontario. Now that he’s living in Clermont, he can enjoy these pursuits any time of year. Working as a computer security expert keeps Steve busy
when he’s not on the water. And defending public access to the lakes has got him involved in CCOLF.

Stephanie Olson, Director of Communications

Stephanie grew up in rural northern Minnesota and is an accomplished skiier and snowboarder. She studied Chemistry on a hockey scholarship to the University of Minnesota, playing goalie. During her senior year, her team was second in the State Championships. Today she runs her own consulting business and enjoys lake front life along with her husband, Bob and family.

Stephanie’s love of the outdoors and wildlife led her to join the effort to save Hiawatha Preserve. She believes that the lakes can be preserved while allowing for sensible use by all parties, and that changes to the lakefront should be done with both functionality and cost in mind.
